The Saturn L series didn't come out until 2000. Before then Saturn only made the S series. I just thought I would add something regarding a 1997 s-series. They did have a recall on the fuel pump/filter (the one that is located in the gas tank) I was sent a letter regarding the recall and then I just had to take it in for a service at Saturn for the free replacement on the recall.
Saturn made more than one car in 2000 so you will need to be more specific! The s-series motor will not fit in an l series car though if that is what you are asking.
