- Pop open the hood of your Grand Prix and prop it open with the rod. Locate the battery under the hood and find the "-" symbol, indicating the negative battery terminal.
- Find a bolt attached to the cable and loosen it with a wrench. Slide the cable off the terminal and take care not to touch it to anything -- especially to the positive side of the battery.
