You will need to take out the whole motor to replace it. It is usually best to get a mechanic to take care of it.

The flex plate is bolted to the back of the crankshaft. It connects the motor to the torque converter in the transmission. To replace you remove the transmission and replace it.

yes it should bolt right up as well as the original motor and tranny
it's under the throttle body ,(air intake) on right side(back of the motor)pully and belts is on the leftside(front of motor)1999 grand am 3.4 sfi.
