It can't be done. The factory code is absolutely integral to the madule and will never be erased. That is something the engeneers decided was a "better idea." You can erase the old codes you had before and program a new codes in as long as it's not the factory code. Even the factory code can be change by the dealer only. One can purchase a keyless lock from websites like eBay, Kaba Keyless Locks, Lockitron, Amazon, Lowes, Go Keyless, DH Gate, Keyless Access Locks or Lockey USA.
Go to "the install doctor" website and look it up. It requires removing lots of panels and the entire glov box to access the screws necessary to access the head unit. However, with the 96-98 civics, the keyless entry electronics are built into the factory head unit (if the car has factory keyless entry).
