Go to "the install doctor" website and look it up. It requires removing lots of panels and the entire glov box to access the screws necessary to access the head unit. However, with the 96-98 civics, the keyless entry electronics are built into the factory head unit (if the car has factory keyless entry). The website should help you out or you may want to get it professionally removed especially if you plan to install an after market HU in the car. Hope this helps!!
