the code P0123 means, Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit High Input. sounds like a wiring problem to me. remove the black plug from sensor on top of the filter with ignition in the off position, start the engine, replace the plug and the light will be off. I tried this but the light is still on!
To reset the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) on a Ford Fusion, first, ensure the vehicle is off. Then, turn the ignition to the "On" position without starting the engine, and wait for about 10 seconds. Next, press the accelerator pedal to the floor and hold it for about 10 seconds, then release it. Finally, turn the ignition off and start the engine; this should reset the TPS.
To reset the brake sensor on a Cadillac STS, first ensure the vehicle is in the "Off" position. Then, turn the ignition to the "On" position without starting the engine. Press the gas pedal three times and turn the ignition back to "Off." This should reset the brake sensor, but if the light remains on, you may need to check the brake fluid level or consult a professional for further diagnostics.
It has to be repaired. A recent reset is an auto fail. You can't have any resets in last 100 miles, but it is easy and cheap to replace
An Oxygen sensor does not reset. You have to replace them and yes they are expensive.
