you face your distributor to your number 1 which should be the driver front plug.get it to where it starts, then you have to get it timed through your computer at a shop.
It has timing chain and gears. NO belt.
It requires an engine scanner to set the timing on that year engine.
You can if you want too, It will go right on there.
I could be wrong, but I have a Vortec 350 in a GMC truck and I think the computer handles the ignition timing. If your talking about valve timing I would assume there are marks on the timing gears like the days of old, but I haven't torn the timing cover off of mine yet.
The vacuum canister can advance 24 degrees beyond initial timing.
sounds like a cranksenser.it will put your timing out when your under load .markstang
how do you set valve on 1998 350 vortec
You shouldn't have to - the knock sensor is supposed to adjust the timing automatically. If the vehicle is mistimed, you might need to replace the knock sensor.
No, the 350 Vortec was not available until a couple years later.
Start in the middle and go in a circle
This is what you will need. Vortec Heads,Intake, distributor, front timing cover, crankshaft sensor and 60 to 66 LB. fuel pump Ect.. If you are talking about putting a vortec engine in a 95 then you will need alot more. Let me know what you are wanting to do and I'll help you.
No, the 1992 Chevy 350 (5.7L) V8 is not a Vortec engine.
