Disconnect this wire, the loosen the dist. bolt and check the timing with a timing gun. Rotate the dist. until you get the desired timing then tighten the dist. bolt and connect the tan wire. On a vortec engine you have to have a engine scanner to adjust the timing. But if there is no check engine light on then the timing is correct all ready. It is controled by the computor, There is no ajustment needed.
