To swap the odometer head on a 1996 Jeep Cherokee instrument cluster, first, remove the instrument cluster by unscrewing the screws securing it and carefully pulling it out of the dashboard. Next, detach the cluster's wiring harness and remove the screws holding the odometer head in place. Replace the old odometer head with the new one, ensuring it is properly seated, then reassemble the cluster and reconnect the wiring harness before reinstalling it in the dashboard. Be sure to check that the odometer functions correctly after the swap.

There is not an odometer cable. The odometer is driven by the speedometer. If the odometer is not working then you will have to replace the speedometer head.

gently pop off the outer bezel with a flat head screwdriver. be careful not to break bezel. should come off fairly easy. there you will find two star head screws. take those out. this should free up the cluster. at this point your work area becomes very small. there are two connections on the back of the cluster. pry the release up and disconnect the cluster . install the replacement cluster the same way the old came out.

Removal instrument cluster on 1991 Toyota Previa?

Luckly, I just did this today. Ok You first have to remove the fuse panel which is just above your climate control settings. There will be 4 Phillips head screws just above below the fuse cluster. Remove those 4 screws and pull out the vent panel and audio console.. There will be 2 screws just right of your instrument cluster Remove those 2 screws. If your driver side door is open you should see one screw just below the molding on the extreme left of the instrument cluster. Remove that one screw and then you should be able to pull off the plastic molding to reveal 2 more black Phillips head screws and 2 copperish screw/nuts with a Phillips driver compatibility. Remove those 4 screws and then you can pull out your instrument cluster. One bit of a warning though. Do not cut the retracting silver wire just under the cluster. I did this and now i cannot see what i am in when i go to put it into drive or reverse. Stupid me.
