Obviously you must be having some sort of problem with your vehicle to ask this question. Trouble is, there is absolutely no way you are goung to be able to tell if what is occurring is being caused by a faulty computer. There is not even a such thing as a diagnostic tool or machine that can diagnose a bad computer. The only way to diagnose a faulty computer(PCM) is to use proccess of elimination. We have a book called a PCED(Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnostic) manual. It is literally about 3 inches thick. In it there is diagnostic flow charts that we use along with a voltmeter, and we manually go around the entire electronic engine control system, by hand, and check wiring, sensors, actuators, grounds, conectors, you name it. If we come across a vehicle that has a problem, and everything checks out ok with the diagnostic routines in the PCED, then we assume we have a bad PCM.
