To test the fuel pump on a 1990 Ford Tempo, first check the fuel pump fuse and relay to ensure they are functioning. Then, locate the fuel pump access panel or remove the fuel tank to access the pump directly. Use a multimeter to measure the voltage at the pump connector while turning the ignition to the "on" position; you should see around 12 volts. Additionally, you can listen for the pump's operation sound by turning the ignition to the "on" position and checking for a humming noise, indicating the pump is working.
Try looking online for service books by Chilton. Good luck...!

In a 1994 Ford Tempo, the fuel pump fuse link is typically located in the engine compartment fuse box. You can identify it by looking for a fuse labeled for the fuel pump or fuel system in the diagram on the fuse box cover. Additionally, there may be a fusible link connected to the wiring harness near the fuel pump itself, so it's a good idea to check both locations if you're troubleshooting fuel pump issues. Always consult the owner's manual for specific diagrams and details.
It would be a good idea to pick up a Ford Tempo owners guide or repair manual to find the location. Not only that, but if there are future problems you'll be able to fix them considering the repair is not major. I know Ford Tempo thermostats go for about $15 bucks. http://www.93Tempo.Citymax.com
