the right way is to locate the fuel line on top of engine look for what looks like a tire valve cap this is where fuel pressure is tested you will need a pressure gauge if this is not available there is a quick way to listens for pump activetion have someone sit in truck open gas cap (no smoking) put your ear up to fuel filler pipe have person turn key onuntill daash lights up dont crank engine if you here a hum from tank pump is working listen a few time key off key on pump will omly pump for 2 or 3 seconds. i would try to test with gauge being chev is famous for fuel pumps and bad fuel regulators email if more info is needed
