It is the wiper control module mounted on top of the wiper motor. Available at most auto parts stores for just under $30. The salespeople have limited knowledge of this part and will try to sell you everything from a wiper motor to the wiper switch on the steering wheel. The correct name and part number is Wiper Motor Pulse Board Module 81-158pb.

The "park switch" located on motor assembly is not opening the power circuit to motor when it reaches "park" location. Remove cover and inspect switch, which is opened by a cam on motor shaft.
The windshield washer motor is located on the passenger side firewall

You need to remove the wiper motor and linkage assembly. Then disconnect the motor from the linkage, and turn on the wipers, to see if the motor is running or not. Then when you have the linkage out, manaully move back and forth to see if its binding or not. Usually a bad motor. Unfortunately, MB seems to have many problems with the wiper blade motors.
The windshield washer motor is mounted nside the windshield washer resovoir, you will see the electrical plug going to it towards the bottom.
if it is like my older model chev truck there is a circut board in the wiper motor assembly, (under the hood), that needs to be replaced. You can get the part at any auto supply store.
The motors, both for the front and the rear, are located at the very bottom of the windshield wiper fluid reservoir. To gain access to them, you have to remove the battery and the battery plate, along with several other bolts that you gain access to from under the car.
