It depends. If you have Onstar, which you probably do (mine does), you will need aan Onstar kit which will run you about $100. If you don't get one, the onstar and door/key/headlights chime won't work.. I just put a Kenwood head unit in my 02. I went without the Onstar kit because I don't use it and I can get by without the chime. The woodgrain (plastic) piece just snaps off. Then take the factory unit out. There are 2 screws at the bottom of the panel that will need to come out, but to get to them, you must take the console, which just snaps off off and turn the console (gear shift area) so you can get to the 2 screws. There are 6 screws on and in the console compartment first that will need to come out. Pull it out and there are 2 more that need to come out under it. Take all of that loose and you can get to the unit. Good luck and happy thumping. Big T

Mine went and the wire for it is located right near the hood latch in the front . I taced it back a litttle and sniped it so then I just pull the wire from the front to open it.
It could be a fuse, check the fuse panel. It could also be a short in the window wire or a short on the way to the window wire.
carefully remove the speaker cover from the rear deck. then the speakers are exposed, remove yhe four screws that hold the speaker mounted, then unplug the wire clip and remove old speaker. then cut off plug, strip wire casing exposing bare wire. twist exposed wires from existing wire and the new speaker wire tape them up real good make sure no wire is exposed. plug the female ends on new speakers place speaker in back deck replace the four screwsand place cover back on and do the same thing to opposite side.
goto Best Buy and buy a wire harness and an install face plate. Next just match the colors on the wire harness with the new deck, and plug the wire harness into the one the old deck was on. Its too easy.
With a wire hanger
I would use a 12 Volt test light and probe the power wire to the horn, chances are the horn is fried. They just unbolt . If it is a horn you need try a salvage yard-probably $10.00. I hope this helps you. Mark
The deck has to be a aftermarket deck. On the wiring harness, you will see a blue wire that says rem. Hook it up there and you should be good
wire crossed or bare wire
To unlatch the wire harness ignition coil cassette on a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue, first ensure the ignition is turned off and the battery is disconnected for safety. Locate the wire harness connector at the base of the ignition coil cassette. Gently press the release tab on the connector while pulling it away from the coil to disconnect it. If necessary, use a small flathead screwdriver to assist in releasing the latch without damaging the connector.
You only need the remote wire if you have an external amp.
