MAF= mass airflow sensor The MAF has a thin wire that heats up. The air rushing past it cools it. The computer measures how much current it takes to keep the wire at a constant temperature. Some MAFs have a temp sensor. Once the computer knows the outside temp and the "wind chill" it can determine the density of the air. It uses air density to calculate how much fuel to deliver

I had the same problem last summer. Checked out everything and no cause. Put in a new MAF sensor and the van runs perfect. I got the maf sensor from a junk yard because new ones are about $100. Try cleaning your maf sensor with maf cleaner, do not use any other cleaner but maf cleaner. If that does not work go to the junk yard. Maf sensor is located in the front where you open the hood. It is part of the air intake system.
Hesitation fixRemove air inlet hose from air filter housing to MAF sensor. Spray carb cleaner into MAF sensor (with car off) and work flap slowly and wipe inside of MAF sensor with lint free cloth. Also check hose at MAF sensor for cracks.
It does not have a MAF.

'93 models had speed-density, not MAF. MAF was started in '94

Yes. Most parts stores carry MAF Cleaner in a spray can. If your MAF is grimey, it can cause your engine to run rough, hesitate, etc... MAF Cleaner will help a lot. Just be careful handling the MAF, it's a delicate part.
