There is a noise on the top of my 96 S/C buick riviera engine (in the supercharger housing) Sounds to me like bearings? How do Ilubricate S/C? And when do I Change this lubricant?
Neglect to replace the supercharger oil.
To check the supercharger oil on a 1998 Buick Riviera, locate the supercharger oil reservoir, which is typically found on the supercharger itself. Remove the fill cap and visually inspect the oil level; it should be within the designated marks on the dipstick or fill neck. If the oil level is low, use a suitable supercharger oil, which is generally a synthetic oil specifically designed for superchargers, often with a viscosity of 5W-30 or similar. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific oil recommendations and capacities.
The 1995 Buick Riviera with a supercharger typically requires about 2.5 to 3.0 pounds of R-134a refrigerant for the air conditioning system. Additionally, it generally needs around 6 to 8 ounces of PAG oil, depending on the specific components and any previous service history. Always refer to the vehicle's service manual for the most accurate specifications and recommendations.
When u change the oil in the car it automatically feeds it to the supercharger. i wondered the same thing so i asked a Buick specialist and that's what they told me
Next to the pulley that is on the supercharger is a little hex nut. Take this hex nut off and drain the oil by using something to suck it out. Once all of the oil is sucked out, use "GM Supercharger Oil" which is a special blend oil and fill it back up. Make sure you fill it up to about 1/4 inch below this hex nut.
The question is about my Buick Regal GS 2000 Supercharger oil Information
how do you change the super charge fluid in a 1995 buick riviera You don't it is a completely sealed unit so you should not have to. i just changed my supercharger oil .Yes you can check it and no, it's not a sealed system. There is a small black plug looking thing about the size of a peanut that is embedded into the gray/silver supercharger itself. You have to use a hex key/allan wrench type tool to loosen it. refer to your owners manual for how much oil to add or if it gets low. the problem with removing old oil is that you have to use a baster type thing ( like a small turkey baster type suction) to remove the old oil as there is no drain plug that I know of. Hope this helps!get your supercharger oil from your local buick dealership, i think it takes 2 bottles
They have various kits available on-line if you Google it "eaton" supercharger. Or just get it from the dealer, it ain't that much.
5 quarts
Without knowing the year, here are some guidelines for a Buick Riviera 3.8: 1988-1993 requires 4.0 quarts of oil 1994-1999 requires 4.5 quarts of oil
A supercharged 1998 Buick Regal GS typically requires about 8 ounces of supercharger oil. It's important to check the oil level regularly and maintain it to ensure optimal performance of the supercharger. Always refer to the owner’s manual for specific recommendations and guidelines.
