I was looking at the 1999 Ford Escort Owner Guide and it shows :
With engine oil filter change :
Sedan / Wagon ( 4.0 quarts , 3.8 liters of engine oil )
ZX2 ( 4.5 quarts , 4.25 liters of engine oil )
" regular " unleaded , 87 octane
If you have all of the tools it should take about 30 min.
The cam shaft sensor on a 1999 ford escort is on the intake side of the engine just below the intake manifold. The intake manifold has to come off to take the CS sensor off.
take the trans pan off remove filter
It is inside the passenger compartment at the end of the console where it meets the dash. You have to take the console out to get to it.
$300 give or take $20 depending on where you take it.
Start with a quart and then check the dipstick.
you have to take it to a machine shop to press off then press new one on
Take out the dash components under stereo and the plastic trim over shifter and e brake and you will see it.
take it to a mechanic and say, "can you replace the transmission mount on my '94 Ford Escort"
A ( 1981 ) Ford Escort takes a BCI group size ( 58 ) battery
Its right behnd the engine. If you take a peek you should see it, its silverish and within arms reach.
