I got both for about $160, before the core charge. With a $30 core, it only cost me about $100. If you know how to replace them this would be all it costs you. If you have to take it to a mechanic, then you're probably looking at about $300-$400 for everything.

A chevy 3500 truck is not front wheel drive, so it does not have CV joints.

You should not try to repair the fulty joint just replace the entire shaft , it will run you a few hundred dollars. ( 200- 400).
