To replace the blend door on the rear AC of a 1998 Chevy Venture, start by removing the rear AC unit from the vehicle. This typically involves taking out the access panel and disconnecting any electrical connectors and ducts. Once the unit is out, you can access the blend door and replace it with a new one. After installing the new door, reassemble the AC unit and reconnect everything to ensure proper function.
Unfortunally you need to remove the entire dash assembly in order to gain access the the blend actuator. Consider replacing the heater core while your in there only because the amount of work involved to do it later if it should leak.

Typically, to repair a broken blend door, a mechanic will disassemble the dash and replace the plenum box. It is an expensive and labor intensive repair. There are also some DIY solutions such as the heatertreater that provide hardware and instructions for performing the repair by removing the glove box rather than the entire dash. It is worth looking into if you think you have a broken blend door.
