It isn't a single part, so removing it would be a problem.
If you wish to disengage the handbrake, apply light pressure to the button on the end of the parking brake lever. Lift the lever upwards (there will be some resistance) until the button presses inwards. With the button held in, lower the lever to the floor, then release the button.
Hand brake? I thought the last GMC with a hand brake was in 68, but I could be wrong.

To replace the disk brakes and pads on a 1987 Pontiac Fiero Sport Coupe, you'll need a jack, jack stands, a lug wrench, a C-clamp or brake caliper tool, and basic hand tools. Start by safely lifting the car and removing the wheel. Remove the caliper bolts, slide the caliper off, and replace the pads; compress the caliper piston using a C-clamp before reinstallation. Ensure the emergency brake mechanism is functioning properly to prevent future issues, and check for any damage to the rotor or caliper caused by the fire.
In the air filter housing, left hand side of the car, in the engine compartment
You know the Murphy's Law about when you assume something? It works really good on a Fiero. Raise the rear of the vehicle. Remove both rear wheels and watch the action of the park brake levers on the calipers as a helper pulls the hand brake lever inside of the vehicle. Do both levers move approximately the same distance? Are both return springs in good condition? They should push the levers back to the stops on the calipers. If yes, then the cable adjustment (located at the rear of the cradle frame) is probably OK. Since the park brake auto-adjustment mechanism is located inside of the rear caliper piston, it cannot be viewed. Pull the Park Brake lever inside of the vehicle as far as it will go. Pump up the brake pedal until it has a hard pedal. Release the park brake. Repeat about three times. If the auto-adjuster is working properly, you should see an improvement in Park Brake operation.
When you remove the caliper, the pads can be pressed out by hand.
will be on right hand side in front of brake pedal , will have to remove right hand side radiator cover to gain access
You need to find or buy a rear wheel that will fit correctly with coaster brake. Once you have that you remove all the hand brake stuff and install the coaster brake rear wheel assembly with brake torque arm.
To replace a broken hand brake (parking brake) on a 1999 Toyota Camry, first, lift the rear of the vehicle and secure it with jack stands. Remove the rear wheels and disconnect the hand brake cable from the lever inside the vehicle and from the brake assembly. Install the new hand brake cable, ensuring it's properly routed and connected to both the lever and the brake components. Finally, reassemble everything, test the hand brake for proper function, and replace the wheels.
Remove the right hand pocket on the fairing ( hand brake side ) it's in there.
Break wheel nuts(tool: Wheel tool), jack up vehicle, Remove wheel, remove brake pads( tool: by hand or flat bit screw driver), then remove brake caliper( Tool: either 12,14,or 17 spanner or ratchet), after that you can remove the rotor by hand.
Remove both wheels. Remove the cotter pin from axel on each side. Remove the axel nut from both sides. On the left side remove the bolt from the bottom of the shock and undo the 4 bolts from the rear differential. Remove the collar from the left hand side of the drive shaft (note which way it is on there an install the same way) From the right side remove all of the bolts around the brake cover. Unscrew the wing nuts that hold the brake cables. Then remove the brake drum and then remove the 4 nuts on the back of the brake plate so you can remove the brake plate. Now you should be able to pull the axle out the right hand side of the differential.
