if engine is out of time you must use special tools to aling. 1st tool is to time engine to top dead center no. 1 cyc. you remove your crank sensor and install tool into flywheel when crank is in proper location. second is a bar which you place onto camshafts on the flat spots in front of cam and is bolted down into holes where the valve cover bolts go. the tools p/n are 303-530 and 303-645. these tools are cheaper when purchased for a jaguar and use the same part numbers there are aftermarket suppliers

If you look at Alldata-it says the 303-645 tool actually locks the crank at 45 degrees ATDC, meaning the keyway on the crank is at 6 o'clock. It will only fit in ONE spot on the ignition pulse wheel. It goes in the position of the crankshaft position sensor. All of the "flats" on the camshafts should also be lined up!

Where do the timing teeth have to be aligned to what cylinder in a sbc 350?

If you are refering to the timing chain teeth, you want the lower and smaller crank gear to have its punch mark aligned at 12:00. The Keyway on the crankshaft should be at aprox the 2:00 position when the punch mark is at 12:00. The upper cam sprocket punch mark needs to be aligned at the 6:00 position. Doing this will put both punch marks at the closest point to each other. Use a ruler or a good eye to make sure they are in line. Do this with the chain set aside to get everything in line before you add the chain. Then remove the cam sprocket to add the chain. But be carefull not to move the cam as you reinstall the sprocket and chain.

Does a 00 Skoda felicia 1.3 glxi have a timing chain or timing belt?

A 2000 Skoda Felicia 1.3 mpi has a timing chain. Not a timing belt. A timing chain. So buying a used felicia and not replacing it is not actually risky, as with a car with a timing belt. The chain of course will also develope 'slack', so it is a good idea to change it after so many klms, and/or if it as gotten too noisy. The possibility of the chain breaking is very very very slim. It WILL develope some slack though, and might jump a tooth, worsening performance and fuel economy. Parts are cheap for the felicia.

When 350 Chevy engine is on compressin stroke where are the timing marks supposed to be?

With #1 at TDC, and the mark on the balancer aligned with 0 on the timing tab, the dot on the cam sprocket would be at 6:00, and the crank sprocket would be 12:00. However, this comes with a caveat: I did run into a 350 Chevy once that had both the dots at 12:00 when the engine was at #1TDC. Never did figure out why. So, if you've got it set at 6 and 12, and you're adjustments aren't working out right; reset the timing chain so that it is on 12 and 12, and try again. I think it was one of those 77 and up engines with the timing tab on top instead of at 3:00.

Bolts for water pump 1995 jeep grand Cherokee v8 where do the long bolts go?

There are 7 bolts going into the water pump, 4 long and 3 short. The short bolts will go into the 12:00, 5:00, and 7:00 O'clock positions. Look for those 3 (short bolt) positions to have the timing chain cover threaded. The timing chain cover for the 4 long bolts will be smooth. Glad I could help.

Where do you set the timing marks on the cam shaft pulley and the crank shaft pulley for a 1990 Geo Storm 16?

Crankshaft timing mark should be lined up with the triangle on the oil pump cover (at 12:00). Camshaft timing mark should be at 9:00 lined up with the cylinder head surface, and the dowel should be at 12:00. This is for the SOHC motor
