To add coolant to a 1998 Chevy Lumina, locate the coolant reservoir, which is typically a translucent plastic tank near the radiator. Remove the cap, and if necessary, use a funnel to pour the appropriate coolant mixture (usually a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water) into the reservoir until it reaches the "Full" line. Ensure the engine is cool before adding coolant to avoid burns or injury. Always check for any leaks and monitor the coolant level regularly.
Here's a link to a schematic and instructions on replacing the coolant sensor (from the Auto Zone website) http://www.autozone.com/shopping/repairGuide.htm?pageId=0900c15280067b92 Good luck!
cold engine only remove the radiator cap and pour then fill to cold line on the reservoir

To replace the heater core in a 1991 Chevy Lumina APV, first, disconnect the battery and drain the coolant from the radiator. Next, remove the dashboard and center console to access the heater core assembly. Disconnect the heater core hoses from the firewall, unbolt the heater core from its housing, and replace it with the new unit. Finally, reassemble everything, refill the coolant, and reconnect the battery.
