The thermostat in a Northstar is located where the lower radiator hose enters the water pump. Drain some coolant, pull the hose, remove the themorstat housing, pull the old stat, and pop in the new stat. Reattach the housing, the rad hose and fill the surge tank to about 1" below the filler neck with 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water.
