Changing Transmission Fluid is simple, but a real mess - drop the transmission pan and collect the juice. Change the filter (if there is one) and reattach the pan using a new gasket and refill the fluid. I suggest you take it to a transmission shop to have this done, as they will inspect the transmission and adjust the bands, and keep your driveway and yard from having a nice red stain. I also have heard many tales about problems and leaks immediately after changing the fluid, so I wouldn't change it unless you are well over 100K miles or drive up mountains all the time.
How do you change the transmission fluid on a 2001 4x4 Isuzu trooper
I am needing to change the transmission fluid on my 2001 Dodge Durango, and I don't know where the location of the plug to drain the transmission fluid is at!
Remove the transmission plug on the bottom of the transmission. The transmission fluid will drain out of the unplugged whole.
To check the transmission fluid in a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue, start by warming up the engine and then parking the vehicle on a level surface. With the engine running, locate the transmission dipstick, which is usually near the back of the engine. Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then pull it out again to check the fluid level. The fluid should be within the marked range on the dipstick; if it’s low, add the appropriate transmission fluid as specified in the owner's manual.
The transmission fluid should be change every 30,000 miles
I have a 2001 325ci BMW with 150,000 miles. When should I check or change the transmission fluid?

Being surprised my 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara (same as Tracker) had a drain plug for the transmission. I just change the fluid, not the filter or gasket.
