If your speedometer is jumping all over the place and your cruise control is no holding, check the parking brake cable where it crosses over the rear differential, it might be rubbing through the insulation on the speed sensor wire that is mounted on top of the differential. good luck!
You will need to buy a new Connector to the sensor that goes into the top of the differential. be sure to pop of the cap and install the two three sided connectors under the cap as well as running the wires through the connector otherwise you will not be sending a signal to the sensor (check with a volt meter).
Connector cost around $50.00 and can only be bought at Jeep, for that price you would think it would come assembled. Jeep will tell you a bunch of B.S. if it doesn't work and try to tell you that you need major costly repairs. I believe them to be
totally dishonest in their pursuit of a dollar.

Replace the Blower Resistor which is located behind the glove compartment. This is a common problem.
Probably the speed sensor on the transmission.
To fix the speedometer on a 1978 Jeep CJ7, first check the speedometer cable for any damage or disconnection, as this is a common issue. If the cable is intact, inspect the speedometer head itself for any signs of malfunction or wear. You may need to remove the speedometer from the dashboard to clean or replace it. If the problem persists, consider replacing the speedometer cable or the speedometer unit entirely.
you just replace it like other cars, get an car enginner to fix it.
I just acquired this 1994 jeep wrangler and the speedometer does not work. I understand it does not have a cable, so if it is electric i am lost . Help
You can fix the speedometer in your 1994 Oldsmobile 98 by replacing the speedometer cable. If changing the speedometer cable does not fix your speedometer you will need to replace the entire speedometer.
Yes, it has one. Is there a question?
there is most likely a censer on one of the wheels of the vehicle
Well I have a 2002 Cherokee and I was quoted anywhere from 400-800 dollars, they said more if its and 8 cyld or the positioning of the engine which makes it longer to remove and more labor.
