bad news. the back cover has to be pulled up over the back to get at spring clips which secure the rods.
Disconnect the battery, and remove the electrical connection and remove the bolts, and reverse to install.
Drivers side, in the front of the engine, remove cap and add.

You have to remove the inside door panel to get access to the door handle nuts.
chain a cherry picker to the fuel injectors and jack it up, engine SHOULD just pull out. (who asks this sort of question, if you are asking this here you should not be working on a mark viii.)
both weels need to be off the ground. disconect air suply. rotate airbag.
