this answer is totally incorrect you can buy the bulbs they are not soldered you just have to remove the cluster and then take out the bulbs you need and take them to a gm dealership as they do not list them seperatly and have to match them with something on there shelves but you can get them seperatly dont fall for this
Both the "wrong" answer and the "right answer above are irrelevant to the question, because the shift indicator light for a 2002 Sunfire IS NOT IN THE DASH CLUSTER.

To change the bulb is not too hard. And yes there is one there. First you need to pop out the square plastic piece where the power window buttons are. Next there are 4 bolts to take out to be able to lift the center console up. When you get the center console lifted up, you don't have to take the whole thing off, beside the shifter on the left side there are wires going up into a plastic box. You can turn it a little bit and the bulb will come down so you can replace it. It is a 194 bulb. Then you just put the bulb back, put the console back down and replace the bolts and you're done.
