This is not a helpful answer, so here is how you actually do it. 1999-2006 Pontiacs
after an oil change the system needs to be reset. To do this, start with the ignition in the on position (but the engine not running) in the driver side fuse box you will see a button that says reset (it will likely be a red button) push the button once and release it. the 'change oil light' will blink, when it does, push in and hold the reset button until you hear the car chime (it will ding a few times) and the the light goes out. You'll be set for another 3000 miles. Also, this will work for many GM models in the similar year range.
