Replace the plugs, plug wires and all vacuum lines on this 14 year old car. If that does not correct the miss, run a compression test on all cylinders. A low reading on any cylinder may indicate a burnt valve, blown head gasket, or worn rings on that cylinder.
FYI------> the 1990 and up z's do not have "plug wires" they have individual coil packs on each cylinder. alsao known as DIS (distributorless ignition system) :)
P0303 : misfire cylinder #3
air flow is bad or t.p.s is bad check spark, check fuel
Craigslist is a good place to find used vehicles such as the Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo. You can also check the SuperPages or YellowPages online for more options of where to buy the vehicle.

The check engine light is flashing due to a problem with the emission system. I flashing check engine light usually indicates a random engine misfire.
http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi Check out this link. I use this for everything when I work on my 300zx. This exact link will take you right to the section that gives step by step instructions on how to replace the oil pan gasket. Good Luck
One way would be for the check engine light to illuminate and spit out a code P0300 for a random misfire.
Check the alignment of your pully and also look for a cracked or broken pully.
you need to check your lights to make sure that the light is not going out!!! A flashing CEL typicly means that there is a misfire.
