if your talking about the vss or speed sensor it has to be done under vech after you remove cat.converters
I spent over an hour trying to loosen the one bolt that holds the speed sensor in place. Finally I removed the exhaust pipes and had it replaced in five minutes.

on the top of the transmission it is very hard to get to i just got mine changed at a shop and i watched the guy change it.
Speed Sensor is not working
it is on the trans,right side you will have to remove cat.converters to access.
Remove the wiring harness from your speed sensor. Remove the speed sensor retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new speed sensor.
which year model, what transmission do you have, and which speed sensor are we talking about?
