If a 2000 Ford Windstar had the alternator and fuel filter and fuel pump all replaced why would it still die like it is not getting enough gas?
Mine was doing this also and stalling bad. I found a broken vacuum line going to the DPFE sensor. The problem came back several weeks later. I cleaned the connections to the DPFE and MAF sensors with contact cleaner. Replaced the DPFE sensor, and found I had a broken clip on the MAF sensor connector (probably the actual problem. If you aren't getting enough air flow, or the computer thinks you aren't from bad sensors or connections, it adjusts the mixture leaner.

I always replace the battery when replacing a alternator. They seem to fail hand in hand. Next check the battery cables and alternator connections. Also check to make sure the belt is tight enough. If it is slipping then the alternator wont be charging the batttery correctly. It has to be one of these things. Good luck.

It may be the result of a malfunctioning alternator, or simply a loose alternator belt. When the car is idling, the rpm's of the engine are decreased. This means that the battery is putting out energy, but the engine is not moving the alternator fast enough to refill the charge. When the car is moving, the alternator is getting enough power to keep the lights from dimming.
