This pin supplied 12 DC power from one board to the other and was black from arcing over the years. This was an intermittent problem that would cause the gauges to come and go. I soldered the pin and the instrument cluster has been working flawlessly ever since. Bad grounds are often the cause for electrical problems in Corvettes.
