the intake manifold is made in with the throttle body plenum located on top of the engine. There is a plastic covering that needs to be removed first. Be careful when removing the intake manifold. There is a retaining bolt on the back side that isn't visible and the emission control valves attached on back of the plenum have electrical connectors that are easily severed if not removed with caution.

They're under the upper intake manifold next to the cylinder heads.
There is 2 of them. And thay are under the intake manifold. You will have to remove the intake to service them.

Assuming this is a 4.3L engine, the upper intake manifold gasket would be between the upper intake manifold and the lower intake manifold.

the intake manifold is located on top of the engine, the piece that look like the tubbing is intertwining.
On the ( 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine ) the DPFE is on the upper intake manifold on the drivers side of the engine

The only fix for a bad intake gasket is to remove the intake manifold and replace the gasket.
