You should compare the type of coolant, not the brand name. If it's the same type then it should be okay. If it's not, then no, it's not alright.
new Prestone Antifreeze will work with all types of coolant
The factory coolant is Dexcool. I used the Prestone universal, works with all models type. Seems to be fine.
Per the owners manual. "Use only a high quality Ethylene glycol based antifreeze coolant, such as Mopar P/N 4267020 or equivalent" Your best bet is to drain all the coolant both from the radiator and the engine block and then flush with water and then use all one brand of coolant, such as Prestone that is sold everywhere if your doing some major repairs like replacing hoses and what not.
VW will tell you that you must use their specific yellow coolant. You don't. Just use the top of the line Prestone that is for all engine types. Don't add water!! It runs on pure coolant...
DexCool, but I would flush it all all and just Use the regular prestone stuff. Dexcool tends to turn to jello after a while and ruin everything.
Prestone akes a variety of antifreezes for an all-inclusive range of vehicles.
Take off your Radiator cap. Under your radiator you will see a butterfly nut on the right side. Unscrew that nut and all your coolant will pour on out. Replace the nut and refill with a 50/50 mix of coolant.
Scions and Toyotas have converted to the new pink/red version of coolant, sold primarily at dealerships. You can find that specific coolant online as well but if you can't- you can always use the yellow colored coolant that is safe for all makes and models sold at auto parts stores (i.e. Auto Zone, Kragen/Checker) I prefer Prestone. Hope this helps!

The coolant capacity for a Dodge Ram 5.9L Magnum V8 is 17.70 liters or 18.70 Quarts which equates 3.89 Gallons. When flushing and refilling the coolant most forums advise that 2 gallons is all that is needed to refill.
Engine ice is the best but you can get away with normal coolant as long as it says on the back that it will work with aluminum motors. When I bought mine I flushed the radiator using the little valve on the bottom corner to drain all the old coolant and filled it with prestone. If it doesn't say it works with aluminum motors it could start pitting your block and eventually cause problems.
Owner's manual says every five years and then every two years after the initial change. Manual also recommends HOAT coolant, such as Valvoline G-05 or Mopar HOAT coolant(sold at Chrysler dealers). DO NOT used Dexcool. It is really bad on Chrysler internal parts. Chrysler also recommends not using the traditional green coolant. Many coolant manufacturers (Prestone and Peek)now have 'universal' coolant, which is supposed to be compatible with all makes, but the choice is up to you. Hope this helps.
