My 1968 Chevy II Nova SS big block car weighed 2550 pounds on the dragstrip scales with 1/2 tank of gasoline in the tank, Turbo 400 trans, Ford 9" rearend with 4.10 gears. It is a factory SS 4 speed car and I still have the original 12 bolt rearend for it. It ran 12.0 seconds, 111 MPH in the quarter mile at Woodburn, Oregon dragstrip. A small block car will weigh a 100 or so pounds less.
