No, the knock sensor is not the same as a throttle position sensor.

The knock sensor is used to determine if the engine is knocking caused by too much spark advance for the octane rating of the fuel being used.

The throttle position sensor tells the engine computer what the position the throttle valve is in to determine gasoline flow .
