No, it is not glued down. It is held in place by a clamp of some sort. Look closer.

New Answer: Look at the bottom of the tray that the battery sits on. Towards the front of the car, you will see a wedge shaped plate which is held in psoition by a singe nut. This wedge clamps the battery to the tray. Undo the nut (deep socket and extension wrench req'd) and release the wedge and the battery.
