If you mean the engine diagnostic codes, then yes. You use a jumper wire to connect the two upper right pins marked 'A' and 'B' on the 'ALDL' connector (located below the dash on the driver's side) with the ignition turned off. Then you turn the ignition on without starting the engine. The 'check engine' light will start blinking 1,2 ... 1,2 ... 1,2 ... Code# ... Code# ... Code#... etc. ... 1,2 ... 1,2 ... 1,2. Then you need to look up the code in the shop manual. For example, Code 44 is lean exhaust and Code 45 is rich exhaust. There is a similar check for ABS module codes using a different jumper position.
