This test will determine what glow plugs are working. ( It will not determine a partially burnt plug ).

Disconnect the glow plug wires at the plugs .( You must unplug all of them for this test to work )

Connect a test light to the positive terminal of the battery. Touch the electrical connector at the end of the glow plug with the test light. If the light goes on the glow plug is working. Make sure you touch only the electrical connector on the plug. If you touch any other part (metal) of the plug the test light will light giving you a false reading.

You can test each glow plug while still installed in the engine. Just get a test light and connect it to the positive terminal of the battery and touch the point of the test light to each glow plug terminal. If the light lights up the glow plug is good if not it is bad. You can replace the one or more that are bad or replace them all since they may not be too far behind.

Why does your Ford fiesta diesel take a long time to start?

Your glow plugs are not heating up. You may have bad glow plugs or relay. try turning on the key ( this should start the warming of the plugs and a light on the dash will come on letting you know it is ok to start if not the relay is bad) if no luck turn off the key and let it cycle again. if it is still difficult to start you may need new glow plugs.

no. just use a socket to remove after removing electrical connects between the glow plugs. this is assuming you have a 1702 kubota diesel. almost like removing a spark plug out of a gas engine. one glow pump is hard to get out. may have to remove a ejector feed line for clearance. hope this helps.

no.glow plugs are used to start the egine only they preheat the cylinders so the fule will help ignite the fule, only on cold days if the light stays on after the car is runing there is a problem with a sencor.
