It is on the left side of the water pump were the radiator hose hooks to it.
You will see 2 bolts on the thermostst housing remove them after you drain the coolant and have removed the hose.
MAKE SURE THE ENGINE IS COLD. where is the thermostat located in a 2005 siverado 4.8 V8
