doors locks & trunk lock not working
THE TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON IS ON THE REMOTE IF YOU HAVE POWER LOCK AND KEYLESS ENTRY. THERE IS NO TRUNK RELEASE INSIDE OF THE FOCUS
This is not an answer but I have a 2000 focus ZX3. The power door locks quit working and the trunk will not unlock. I purchased a haynes manual to locate fuses. Found no problem. The manual alludes to the striker plate has a electrical connection. I can get to the trunk from inside but can not unlock it HELP !
The driver's side lock unlocks and locks the other doors, gas panel, and trunk, depending on how you have set the trunk lock. If you have one you can figure out the trunk if your system is working. There are two settings. You can NOT lock the driver's side door if the door is open. This is to prevent you from locking your key inside.
The trunk can only be opened with the key you use to unlock the doors with.
You can get a copy from any hardware store but it will only open the doors and trunk. If you want one that will start the car, you need to get it from a dealer, pretty expensive.

Mine doesn't have automatic trunk release. I use the key to unlock my doors to open the trunk.

There is not one simple answer. There are a multitude of reasons your trunk closing assist does not work. In the MB S500 the doors are close assisted and they operate on the same system as the trunk.
