The freon capacity is usually on a sticker under your hood butsometimes are missing and it will depend on whether or not you have rear AC on your model. On a 03 Windstar SEL without rear AC it takes 2lb 12oz if it has rear AC it takes 3lb 8oz.
In a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban, the rear AC evaporator is typically located under the vehicle's rear passenger area, specifically beneath the floor or behind the rear passenger seats. Accessing it usually requires removing the rear interior panels and, in some cases, the carpet. This location allows the rear AC system to effectively cool the rear cabin area.
If it is a factory ac the front and rear use the same ports. It just takes more freon for one with dual units
Since the GL was the mid-level Windstar model, rear air conditioning would have been an option available at the time of purchase. So the answer is that it depends on the individual vehicle.
where is rear blower motor resistor on a 2001 odyssey
You probably have a faulty rear temperature blend door actuator. Remove the left rear trim panel to access it. Be sure to review "Related Questions" below for much much more on Windstar heating/cooling problems
The ac system will have to be drained of freon and the pressure released. Then the compressor can be removed and replaced. Replace all o rings along the way as well.
vacuam hose to ac control is of
Look under the hood on the passenger side for tubes that have black plastic screw on caps on them. The cap with an L on it is the low side where you refill the AC.
