The battery on an 84 is located just ahead of the driver's door, under the hood. Step 1 is to disconnect the battery. Make sure you start with the ground cable before you disconnect the positive side or you could end up with a nasty (shocking!) surprise and end up hurting yourself and your Corvette. Here's where it gets fun. You are actually going to remove that section of fender (rocker panel) that sits next to the battery. At the bottom of this panel are some bolts that take a 7mm wrench. Remove the first two, then open the door and there are some small Torx head screws. Remove the first two because these are the ones actually holding the panel. At the top rear of the panel (behind the top of the battery), remove the top bolt with a 10mm wrench. Now go to the inner fender and remove all the Torx head bolts. Once these are done, you can pull the panel out and loosen the rear panel bolt. Remove the panel (don't sit it paint side down!). Now remove the battery hold down apparatus, and remove the battery. TA-DAAAA!
Possibly at the same place it is on a 1982 Corvette behind drivers seat in front of battery between battery and carpet on floor at rear of seat. Its worth a try

You need to remove the small vented side panel. or at least remove the 3 screws from the wheel well and the one on the top of the panel. Then pull the panel out enought to remove the battery
