To repair the cylinder head gasket on a 1987 Ford Ranger, first, ensure you have the necessary tools and a replacement gasket. Begin by draining the engine coolant and removing the intake and exhaust manifolds, as well as the cylinder head bolts. Carefully lift the cylinder head off, clean the surfaces, and replace the gasket. Finally, reassemble everything, ensuring to torque the cylinder head bolts to the manufacturer's specifications, and refill the coolant.

Replacing a head gasket on a 1996 Honda Accord requires removal of the cylinder head, timing belt, and several other components. The head will need to be resurfaced. Remove the old gasket and place the new one with gasket sealer. Reinstalled the head.
A blown gasket can be repaired by replacing the gasket...if you are talking about the head gasket, then you have to remove the cylinder head from the engine block and replace the gasket that is inbetween them. Cracked heads generally have to be replaced because they are made of aluminum which cannot be repaired permanently once it is cracked.
Bit of a tricky one ... It all depends on the condition of the cylinder head. If the cylinder head is warped then replacing the head gasket won't solve your problem. A warped cylinder head can be skimmed (if not too badly warped). If the cylinder head is badly warped then it would be much easier to replace the head than fit another engine.
A head gasket joins that cylinder head with the cylinder block. It separated the oil and the coolant passages. If the two mix, the head gasket will "blow" soon.
