First you disconnect the battery terminal. (I do the negative one)
If it is the coil pack/ module (one piece) it is held in place by 2 bolts and 1 nut/ stud.
You will need a 10 mm thin walled , deep well socket and ratchet.
It is located under the intake manifold.
there is a wire clip that holds the wires to the coil pack, just pry it off with a screwdriver or needle nose pliers. (put the clip back on the harness, it just pushes back onto the new pack and locks when pushed into place.)
Remove spark plug wires, marking where they come off.
Mount the new coil pack, replace the plug wires, push wire harness on until it locks in place.
JUST A NOTE... count on 2-3 hours to do this, space is tight.

If the oil fuel gauge in your 1989 Pontiac Sunbird is not working, it could be due to a faulty sending unit, a bad gauge, or an issue with the wiring. Start by checking the connections at the sending unit and the gauge for any loose or corroded wires. If those seem fine, consider testing or replacing the sending unit and the gauge itself. Consulting a repair manual for specific troubleshooting steps can also be helpful.
