Generally cruise will turn itself off when the car is turned off, but it is always good to be sure, I always turn it off when I am not using it.
To turn off cruise control, you can typically press the "Cruise" or "Cancel" button on your steering wheel or dashboard. Alternatively, you can deactivate it by tapping the brake pedal, which disengages the system. In some vehicles, you can also turn off cruise control by turning the cruise control switch to the "Off" position. Always refer to your vehicle's manual for specific instructions, as methods may vary by model.
To turn off the cruise control light in a 2007 VW Passat, you can simply press the "CRUISE" or "ON/OFF" button on the cruise control stalk or steering wheel. If the cruise control is currently engaged, you can also tap the brake pedal to deactivate it. If the light remains on after these steps, there may be an issue with the cruise control system that requires further inspection.
It may be a safety feature on your car. If you are going to make a turn you for sure do not want the cruise to be engaged.
my cruise control light will blink on an off and the care will move.when it is not blinking the truck will not move, why is that
If the car is equipped with cruise control the on/off switch in mounted to the steering wheel, left side of the horn
1) turn on cruise control (a light should turn on somewhere) 2) increase or decrease speed to desired mph 3) press button or apparatus to set or reset cruise 4) take foot off gas peddel and the car should maintain steady speed. I've had 2 VW's and the cruise didn't work in either one....perhaps your cruise just doesn't work.
To the left of the steering wheel, below the dashboard is a button that says cruise control. Push that button in, the dash will illuminate the cruise control light. Then, as you reach the speed you want to cruise at, push the button on the steering wheel that says "set". When you want to turn cruise control off, simply tap the brake pedal and the cruise will go off.
your on off switch may be bad, get it checked.
I have a Ford Taurus 92, and my cruise control is right on the steering wheel. There is an "on and off" switch on the wheel, and you click the on, and a cruise control button should be under those. (be sure to click "on" before you click the c.c.)
If the cruise control on your 1987 300ZX does not work, you might have an issue with the cruise control fuse or wiring. You could also have a problem with the switch that turns the cruise control on and off.
This sounds like a direct short my 2001 frontier does that too, i was told it was an electrical malfunction.
There is no isolated fuse for the cruise control. It all runs off the 20A gauges fuse. If you are having trouble with the cruise control I would check the Cruise Control Module or the Cruise control Servo. What symptom is occurring?
