check the part numbers on the computers. It'll have 6 or 7 numbers with 2 letters at the end. These 2 letters can be different. They change with a software upgrade. AA upgrades to AB then to AC and so on.
::::IMPROVEMENT::::
the computers from 1997-1999 neons are 100% interchangeable, just make sure that if you swap your computer with another, it came from a 1997-1999 neon, WITH THE SAME TRANSMISSION as the car you intend to put it into, not sure if the computer from an auto will throw a check engine light if put in a manual, i would assume so though, because a manual has a clutch solenoid as opposed to a torque converter solenoid, but, if you put a computer from a manual into an automatic, you WILL get a check engine light, due to the fact that a computer from a manual does not have the programming to run the torque converter solenoid
for those of you with a 1995 or a 1996 neon wondering about interchangeability, the 1995 neon is only compatible with a 1995 computer, the connectors are COMPLETELY different
1996 neons, yes, you can use a 1997+ computer, but it is not recommended, because the pin in the connector that runs the radiator fans are in a different location, which means your radiator fan will not run, so you will have to modify the connector, which is not recommended (FOR EXPERIENCED PEOPLE ONLY, I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU BREAK YOUR CONNECTOR)

Due to the electronic fuel injection system in the 1997 Dodge Neon it is not possible to lower the idle speed. The engine control system computer adjusts the speed automatically.
Green
Yes it will
No. The engine computer is the voltage regulator on a Dodge Neon.
Yes
No
there are NO speakers in the "rear" doors of a Neon.
The 1997 Dodge/Plymouth Neon takes 21" drivers side and 18" passenger side replacement windshield wiper blades.
It will fit physically but the 2001 and later cars used a different crank position sensor configuration so they are not copatible with the older computer and the new computer would be very difficult, though not impossible, to integrate.
Both model years contain the OBD2 ECM, but the firmware or wiring could possibly be different for each car. And has to be from same engine (DOHC or SOHC) and same tranny(auto or manual).
Dodge does not use inertia/reset switches.
