They say 5w30 but for 15 yr old cars I would use engine flush and change oil for 5w40 or cheaper 10w40 castrol mobil1 valvoline. Make its prefference. When changing oil change filter air filter and fuel filter. Peace!
Castrol Motor makes the best engine oil for classic cars. Also, Pennzoil is an good choice for classic cars . Including, Mobil 1 and Amsoil. They are all great sources of oil for classic cars, but Castrol is the number one best oil for classic cars.

I personally use Castrol GTX High Mileage in my 1996 Golf. Regular Castrol GTX should be o.k. for a newer Golf. I always use a FRAM filter. I recently saw that Valvoline guarantees a cars engine life up to 300,000 miles if you use only Valvoline. I am sure there are restrictions and documentation that must take place but.................. I would look into Valvoline if I had a new car.
