Ummmmmmm is this a trick question? I'd say five of the ten are not firing.
Does this motor have electronic ignition? or does it have twin contact points? or single contact points? Twin Coils or single? More info required for diagnosis.
(sorry, couldn't help the quip)
4 cyl = 180 thermostat 6 cyl = 195 thermostat
My 1995 Ford Explorer was running cooler on the temperature gauge and it turned out to be my thermostat
I'd assume that you have a 6 cyl. engine. if you have a 4 then i'd be suprised if it runs at all. if you have a 6 then no it will not run for verry long with the 2 dead cyl. with out those 2 cyl it is putting more stress on the crankshaft than what it was designed for. do you know why the 2 are "broken" there are several diff. things that can cause a cyl. not to fire. I you dont have to run it I wouldn't
Sparkplugs... Give it a tune up.
Ford's firing order is actually 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8. one thru four run down the passenger side of the engine and five thru eight on the driver side. The above answer is the cylinder order not the firing order. The firing order is1-3-7-2-6-5-4-81 cyl is front Right(passenger side)
Fuel Pressure
mine does that aswell, its normal to do that it will run below 1000rpm etc
you step on the gas that's how cars move isn't it
Start at the n/cyl and push the clutch pedal down ONE TIME nd loosten the line going to the slave cyl. Close the line and let your foot off of the pedal and pres it down ONCE more and keep it up until there is no air comming out. Then go to the slave cyl and do the same until no air is present. Make sure the m'cyl doesn't run out of fluid. ALSO PUMPING THE PEDAL CAUSES THE AIR TO MIX IN THE FLUID.
coil may be bad
sounds like a stuck fuel injector
I wish someone would post an answer to this one as my 1996 4 cyl Contour has this problem aslo. It paases smog with room to spare but has the idle problem. Also I wsh postings would give more info such as: what engine -4 or 6 cyl & be more specific as it makes a huge difference on getting an answer
