The odometer and speedometer in a 1993 Buick Regal may stop working due to a faulty vehicle speed sensor (VSS), which sends information about the car's speed to the dashboard instruments. Additionally, issues with the speedometer cable, such as damage or disconnection, can also lead to failure. Electrical problems, such as blown fuses or wiring issues, may further contribute to the malfunction. Lastly, a malfunctioning instrument cluster can prevent both gauges from operating properly.

What causes the speedometer and the odometer to stop working at the same time on a 1993 Buick century How do you fix this?

The logical problem - would be a broken speedo cable. The speedo & odometer are both run from the same cable.

Stopped analog odometer in 1992 Buick Regal Custom the digital speedometer works well how does one fix the problem with the odometer?

The odometer is held in with 3 screws to the instrument panel, and an electrical connector plugs into the circut board on the instrument panel, unplugs easily. Then the motor that drives the odometer can be unscrewed and taken off. We're going to get another one from another Buick at a junkyard and screw & plug it in, and hopefully it will start working. I took the instrument panel out of our 92 Buick Regal, (took off the bolts (really screws with bolt heads) for the top dash pad and pulled it out, very easy). Then the instrument panel can be unscrewed (4 screws/bolt heads) and easily pulled out, leave the transmission PNDD2L indicator attached, or 2 screws on the bottom of the instrument panel and it comes out, and took the face plates off the instrument panel to get at the odometer.

Why does your speedometer not work and the transmission shift erratic and odometer not work this is on on 1995 Buick riviera supercharger and the problems happened all at once?

The issues with your 1995 Buick Riviera's speedometer, erratic transmission shifting, and non-functional odometer likely stem from a failure in the vehicle's Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). The VSS provides essential data to the engine control unit for both the speedometer and transmission operation. If the sensor is malfunctioning or there’s a wiring issue, it can cause all these symptoms to appear simultaneously. Additionally, check the vehicle's fuses and connections for any signs of damage or corrosion.

How do you repair shift indicator light on a 99 Buick century?

its an LED display and a part of the instrument/speedometer cluster. You can remove it, ship it, and have it repaired for $100-$200 Speedometer repair on ebay, in CT...very reliable service Addition: You cannot remove the odometer from the circuitboard. The problem lies within the board, not the odometer display. I can refurbish the whole board back to factory specs. Contact me at ANCTechnologies at hotmail

1990 Buick LeSabre speedometer not working. Replaced the speed sensor but it didn't help. It is electronic so no cable. Is it a relay What is the name of it if so What else could it be?

The contacts between the speedometer head and the wiring connector need to be cleaned. If that does not work get a used speedometer. It fixed mine.

Why would a speedometer stop working in a 2005 buick rendezvous?

A speedometer in a 2005 Buick Rendezvous may stop working due to a faulty vehicle speed sensor (VSS), which sends speed information to the instrument cluster. Additionally, issues with the wiring or connectors related to the speed sensor can disrupt the signal. A malfunctioning instrument cluster itself could also be the culprit. Lastly, blown fuses or problems in the vehicle's computer system may contribute to the speedometer failure.
